Details: This is a gorgeous set of Japanese tea cups. The detail in these is amazing! Each petal on the flowers, the feathers on the tiny gold birds and tiny leaves and branches, very well done. The flowers are in white, blue, red and purple with green leaves and lots of gold details. This style of “Ceramique Noir" (Black Ceramic) became popular in the early 1980’s, we have dated them as such. These cups have the beautiful high shine glaze and black ceramic background, which makes the rest of the design really stand out. They are stamped on the bottom: “Made in Japan". These would make a lovely gift with some fine teas. A unique find for the tea cup collector, great gift for a host or hostess, or of course for your favorite tea lover or you!
